Religion question.. i want to attend church.. not sure where to begin?

okk.. im young and i was never raised with much of a religious back ground. so my question is, if im curious to learn what church can do to my life.. how do i pick a place to start. none of my friend or family attend church. i know if i went somewhere that they were too pushy or demanding, i would leave. how do i chose what to follow?
