What countries are major producers of diamonds and how are they imported to the US?

Today Russia, Botswana, Australia and Congo are the major diamond producers. Virtually all all diamonds enter the US by way of Antwerp, in the Netherlands, which is a major hub of diamond trading. Interestingly, one company, De Beers, holds a virtually monopoly on this trade and almost all commercially traded diamonds p through their hands.
